Lofoten Islands Winter Tour Program

1 Day
Tromso
We gather the whole group in Tromso. Those who arrive earlier can walk around the city longer.

Tromso is a large city in Northern Norway. It is also called the Paris of the North and the Gateway to the Arctic, it is located 400 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. It is generally accepted that the name Tromso comes from the Norwegian Tromsøya - this is the name of the island on which the city is located, which means "strong current". At the beginning of the 20th century, polar expeditions departed from Tromso, which is how the name "gateway to the Arctic" appeared.
In addition to interesting northern architecture, the city will also delight you with the beauty of the surrounding areas. Here you will definitely feel like you are on the edge of the world.

In the evening, we have dinner together and get to know each other, discuss the travel plan, and discuss the most important points.

We spend the night in Tromso

Day 2
Dog Sled Expedition

Our bright winter adventure begins early in the morning when we leave Tromsø and go to the sled dog kennel. An unforgettable day full of joy and new impressions awaits us.

After a short transfer, we will find ourselves surrounded by picturesque northern nature, where we will be met by friendly huskies. First, we will get to know these amazing animals, and then go on a real Arctic walk on dog sleds. You will feel the wind blowing on your face, and the snow sparkles under the runners. This will be a truly emotional and exciting adventure that will remain in your hearts forever.

After the ride, a hot lunch awaits us in a cozy house. We will taste delicious dishes, warm up with tea and continue communicating with the dogs. You will be able to learn more about their life, training and character traits.

This day is especially important for us, because we have already had experience working with sled dogs before, and this will be a great opportunity to immerse ourselves in nostalgic memories and share them with you.

This day will give us bright emotions and a great start to our trip around the Lofoten Islands.
In the evening we move to the northern port town of Narvik.

p.s. We check the app for the likelihood of the northern lights.

Day 3
Lofoten Islands Beaches and the Most Famous Photopoints

Today we will have an amazing journey through the most beautiful places on the way from Narvik to the Lofoten Islands. We will make stops at the most picturesque photo spots to capture the winter landscapes that will enchant you with their beauty.

Our route will pass through magnificent winter beaches with white sand and turquoise water, surrounded by sharp high cliffs and black mountains. These places look like they came straight from a postcard....

Towards the evening we will arrive in the Lofoten Islands and check into our cozy house, where we will spend the next nights. There we will be able to relax after a busy day, chat in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and, if we are lucky, see one of the most breathtaking natural phenomena - the northern lights.

So let's keep our fingers crossed and hope to see miracles tonight.

Day 4

Stunning Lofoten and the cozy village of Reine

Today we will begin our exploration of the Lofoten Islands by visiting their charming villages. We will pay special attention to Reine, one of the most atmospheric and picturesque in the archipelago. This small village can be considered the most popular place among photographers who come to Reine from all over the world to take beautiful pictures of red and yellow rorbu frozen on the shores of snowy bays.

Back in 1120, King Oystein built fishermen's settlements with simple huts - rorbu. "Bu" or "Bo" means a small temporary dwelling, and "Ror", adapted to Norwegian, can be deciphered as an exit to the sea. That is, rorbu literally means a temporary dwelling for fishermen who came to Lofoten during the season. Until the end of the 19th century, all the houses belonged to the King of Norway. But kings sooner or later find themselves in debt - and the rorbu had to be sold to the fishermen.

We will walk along the streets of the village, look at the fishermen's houses, listen to the cries of seagulls, and have lunch at a local restaurant. The whole day we will be accompanied by the most beautiful sharp peaks of the mountains surrounding Reine. This place preserves northern calm and is endowed with a harsh character. And the bright houses against the background of monochrome landscapes make Reine even more atmospheric.

In the evening we will return to our cozy house, cook dinner and try to catch the northern lights again!

Day 5

Winter Hiking to Kvalvika Beach

Today we have an amazing adventure - we are going to Kovalvika beach, one of the most picturesque corners of the Lofoten Islands. Imagine: white sand, turquoise water, the power of the ocean and majestic mountains around. The northern landscapes here are simply mesmerizing with their beauty and wild nature.

If the weather pleases with snow, then we will have the opportunity to try snowshoe hiking - a new and very exciting winter activity for many.

After a great walk, we will return to our cozy house, where a delicious dinner will be waiting for us. We will discuss our impressions of the day and hope to see the northern lights.

This day promises to be full of bright impressions and stunning views!

Day 6

Town A (O) and ascent to the lookout above Ramberg

Today we are heading to the farthest town of the Lofoten Islands, a village with a name consisting of only one letter O. We will devote time to photography and walks, drink coffee with a view of a small fjord, and closer to lunch we will try to climb one of the observation decks, which offer a magical view of the Lofoten Islands.

Much will depend on the weather, but we always have several backup routes and activities if the hiking trails to the observation decks are closed.

In the evening we move to Narvik

Day 7

Snowmobile ride

After breakfast, we set off on another winter adventure - a snowmobile ride. If you have never had such an experience, do not worry, our experienced instructor will explain all the nuances of driving, we will get warm clothes and hit the road. Northern nature, wind, speed and endless snowy expanses - this is one of our favorite winter activities.

A snowmobile ride will give you many fun moments and a new experience. If you want to try something exciting and unforgettable, this is exactly what we need!

After the walk, we will have lunch in a warm traditional lavvu by the fire.

Towards the evening, we will go to Tromsø.

Day 8

Road home

On this day we fly home. If your flight is after lunch, you can walk around Tromso again, buy souvenirs and finally enjoy the atmosphere of the north.

We say goodbye to Norway and fly home
