Program
Day 1
Getting to know the island
We meet the whole group at the airport. We will spend all our nights in the main city of the island, Funchal. We check into the apartments, leave the luggage and go to explore the city.

Funchal has an ancient history, it is a city with beautiful old palaces, authentic streets, and picturesque gardens. We will have time to slowly explore the city, and try to understand its rhythm and soul.

We will definitely look at the local Mercado dos Lavradores market, where all the products of the island are sold, from a wide variety of fruits to seafood, such as black swordfish. Then we will walk along the most unusual street of the city - Santa Maria looks more like a huge open-air art gallery, where almost every wall, door, window is an object of art.

We will gradually discover Funchal, every day noticing new features and details.

In the evening we will go to meet the sunset at the Cabo Girao viewpoint.
We will have dinner at one of the local restaurants, and will discuss upcoming plans :)
Day 2
Welcome to Mars
The Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço hike
  • Distance: 7 km
  • Difficulty: Easy
The Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço hike is one of the most popular hikes on Madeira Island. This coastal track takes you along a narrow stretch of rugged coastline to the most eastern point of Madeira Island, well at the least the furthest point you can hike to. The hike is a seven-kilometer route with a number of stunning viewpoints, which highlight the volcanic erosion over millions of years throughout the coastline.

After a good walk and enjoying breathtaking views, we will go to another part of the island, to one of the most unusual and very beautiful villages of Madeira - Santana.
Day 3
On top of the world
PICO DO ARIEIRO TO PICO RUIVO
  • Distance: 11 km
Difficulty: moderate

The hike from Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo is the most famous hike on the island of Madeira in Portugal. This tunnel route leads hikers along narrow pathways, up and down ominous staircases, and through dark tunnel chambers. it is filled with incredible views of the valleys and ridges. You will rise above the clouds and feel like you are on top of the world. it will be the highlight of your trip to Madeira.

In the evening we will go to see the Cascata dos Anjos waterfall, which falls from a high cliff right onto the road.

We will meet the sunset at the observation deck - Miradouro do Cabo Girão which is located on the highest cape in Europe, located at an altitude of 538 meters in height.
Day 4
EPIC COASTAL RIDGE HIKE ON MADEIRA
Distance: 14.5 km (possibly 24 km if we want )
Difficulty: Moderate

On this day we will make one of the most beautiful and impressive hikes along the coast.

A varied and interesting trail awaits us. We will see all the landscapes of the island, from valleys and rocky rises to headlands and red volcanic formations. Be sure to stop at the Boca do Risco lookout and enjoy the endless expanse of the ocean.

Being in Madeira and not passing over the ocean is not right. Get ready for a bright and active walk, we will see a lot of beauty, and we will feel like real locals: we will pass part of the ancient trail where vines used to be delivered before the network of tunnels was built on the island.

In the evening we will again meet at the sunset at one of the beautiful locations.

Day 5
Relic forests and natural pools
We will wake up early and try to make the most of this day! heading towards the north coast.
Our first stop will be in the relic forests Fanal Pond- one of the most beautiful and mysterious places in Madeira.
After taking a lot of beautiful and atmospheric photos, we will go to relax in the natural pools with ocean water, which are located on the northern coast.

We will drive along the most beautiful mountain road, once again looking at the island from a height. We will soon arrive in Porto Moniz, where the world-famous swimming pools are located. We swim and relax in the heated water. This will be a great end to our trip.

In the evening we will go to the airport.
