An island of volcanoes, glaciers and lava fields
We will explore the center of the island, crossing valleys, passes and lava fields. We will climb a volcanic crater, see waterfalls, and cross rivers. Fall asleep and wake up in the most magical places in Iceland. This hike allows you to truly know and feel the power of the island and unconditionally fall in love with it.
PROGRAM
DAY 1: REYKJAVIK - LANDMANNALAUG
We will meet you at 7am at Reykjavik Central Station. This is where our journey begins. We will have a 4-hour drive along the southern coast of Iceland, and then deep into the island. On the way, we travel along the south coast and then turn inland and pass Iceland's most active volcano, Hekla.
Around lunchtime, we will arrive at our base camp in the Landmannalaugar valley. Here we will set up tents and prepare places to stay. We will then get to know the camp and discuss our plans for the coming days over lunch.
In the afternoon we will set off on our first radial hike - we will climb Mount Sudumamur, which offers an incredible view of the camp and the entire valley, then we will walk along the colored ridges and go down to the lava field, along the way we will see a waterfall and black extrusions that remained after the eruptions.
We'll take lots of cool photos and enjoy the scenery.
In the evening we prepare dinner and go to relax in the hot springs.

Around lunchtime, we will arrive at our base camp in the Landmannalaugar valley. Here we will set up tents and prepare places to stay. We will then get to know the camp and discuss our plans for the coming days over lunch.

DAY 2: LAKE LJOTIPOLLUR
After a good sleep and a delicious breakfast, we set off to explore the volcanic craters. We are interested in Lake LJOTIPOLLUR, which amazes the imagination with its incredible colors. Turquoise water surrounded by red and green slopes contrasts with the endless black lava desert around.
This hike will take us the whole day.
The route passes through picturesque landscapes and from time to time you catch yourself thinking that you are on another planet.

DAY 3: LANDMANNALAUGAR - HRAFNTINNUSKER HUT - LANDMANNALAUGAR
Today we will have a long walk through brightly colored mountains and pitch-black obsidian deserts. We'll start at Brennisteinsalda Mountain, trek through geothermal areas and visit the highest camp in Iceland - HRAFNTINNUSKER HUT.
The obsidian desert called Hrafntinnusker, vibrantly colored Reykjafjöll rhyolite mountains, and the Jökultungur area are at the top of the agenda today. Geothermal activity has turned these craggy gullies into burnt and sometimes vivid yellows and reds over time. These colors contrast dramatically with the soft pale sandy hues around them. The top of Jökultungur is a great place to enjoy views over the whole Fjallabak (behind the mountain) area and Álftavatn lake

DAY 4: GREENIHRYGGUR HIKE
We will remember this day for the rest of our lives; for us, the hike to the Green Bone is one of the most beautiful in the world. It is difficult and very interesting, we will have to ford rivers, climb sandy slopes, and descend into valleys, but what awaits us in the finale is a real gift and magic.

DAY 5: HIKING FIMMVORDUHALS PASS TO MAGNI & MODI VOLCANO CRATER
The final day in Landmannalaugar will be calm. We will make a short hike up the mountain and once again admire the magnificent views of the valley and colorful mountains.
After which we will have time to take a final swim in the hot springs, pack up camp and head back to Reykjavik around lunchtime.
