История удивительной дружбы человека и пингвина
In 2011, on one of the beaches of Proveta Island (Brazil), fisherman Joao Pereira de Souza found a small Magellanic penguin covered in oil. The bird was in critical condition: its feathers were stuck together, it could not hunt and was doomed to die. Joao did not remain indifferent. He cleaned the penguin from the oil, treated it and fed it fish every day until it gained strength.
When the penguin, named Din-Dim, got stronger, Joao released it into the wild, expecting that the bird would return to its native waters. However, after a few months, something amazing happened: Din-Dim returned.
Since then, for many years now, the penguin has been traveling more than 8,000 kilometers every year to meet its savior again. Every June, he swims to Joao and stays with him until February, after which he heads to Argentina to breed.
Biologists say that this behavior is extremely unusual for penguins. They believe that Din-Dim perceives Joao as part of his family. The fisherman says that he loves the penguin as his own child, and Din-Dim responds with boundless affection, allowing him to stroke him and even pick him up.
