We leave Prague early (around 6 am) to arrive in Austria in time for lunch.

The Smaragdbahn in Bramberg will carry you up to an elevation of 2100 m above sea level, the starting point of the world’s longest floodlit sled run. At that point, there’s nothing left to do except summon your courage, give your sled a final once-over, then zoom down this 14 km long, adventure-packed sled run all the way back to Bramberg. Within roughly 30 – 50 minutes, you will drop an incredible 1300 vertical meters. If you decide to ride the Wildkogelbahn up to the ski area from Neukirchen, you are likewise only a 10 min walk from the top of this sled run to Bramberg.

We will have time to go sledding until the evening and then we will go to dinner in one of the local restaurants.

In the evening we go to spend the night in our cozy hotel.

A winter holiday at Lake Weissensee is as diverse as the natural landscape that surrounds it. ICE WORLD stands for extraordinary experiences on the largest groomed natural sheet of ice in Europe.

UNIQUE NATURAL ICE

The surface of ice that covers the entire Lake Weissensee in winter can be up to 40 cm thick. Towards the end of November, thin ice begins to form on the small western part of Lake Weissensee and continues to spread. From mid-December to the beginning of March, the ice surface provides the setting for all kinds of activities.

We will be ice skating, but if you want to try another kind of activity, like downhill skiing or cross country skiing, that is also possible

It's an experience you won't find anywhere else in Europe. The frozen Lake Weissensee, with a 40 cm thick sheet of ice that stretches nearly to the horizon, offers an almost boundless playground for ice skaters. Surrounded by the wintry mountain panorama, persevering skaters will find an extraordinary natural landscape on the 25-kilometre-long circular track with fascinating impressions at every step.

If you prefer short distances, a visit to the 400-metre track for speed skaters is a good idea.

The lake, well protected by the gentle mountains, offers you a wide range of experiences in winter. There are also 40 km of cross-country skiing trails along the lake, walking around is also nice.

After spending a wonderful day outdoors, we will head back to Prague.
